BIOGRAPHY

Tone Ross is a gifted recording artist and grammy award winning producer, songwriter, photographer, and digital content creator. His creative instincts were honed at an early age through participation in choir rehearsals, concerts, and preparing music for weekly services and events at his church. Even as a child, Tone’s passion for music and creativity positively influenced others around him. This would mark the beginning of a journey that is now elevating to heights that were once deemed unimaginable.

Needless to say, music has always been a part of Tone's DNA. During his high school years, he founded his first choir, Voices of Reason, as an after school alternative for students. He was also voted the ‘Most Musical’ student in his high school graduating class. Since then, Tone has studied music and music business at Columbia College Chicago with some of the best professors and personnel in the country. While studying there, he has served as both assistant conductor and composer-in-residence for the Columbia College Gospel Music Program. Tone’s accomplishments at Columbia include a Bachelor of Music degree in Contemporary Urban & Popular Music with emphasis on Vocal Performance and a Master’s Degree in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management.

Outside of the classroom, Tone Ross is leading a successful career as a recording artist as well. Tone Ross & Inspired have released three commercial singles, "My Help", "Mighty God”, and “Expect The Best” featuring DeAndre Patterson. Tone’s latest release is entitled “Faith Land”. "Faith Land" takes the listener on a journey, beginning with an affirmation of faith ending in a realization of victory! 

As a music producer, voice over production came easily to Tone. While serving as the Senior Director of Communications at New Life Covenant Church Southeast, he was able to strengthen his voice over skills. Many have commented that Tone’s voice is exciting, warm, and engaging - destined for TV and Radio. He is now producing voice over content for many media outlets in the Chicagoland area.

Photography and film are Tone’s new-found passions that have morphed into a profitable business. What began as a hobbies during the pandemic have now bloomed into Tone Ross Music and Media LLCTone Ross Music and Media provides photography services to clients who need live event coverage, headshots, brand and lifestyle photography, product photography, pre-marital engagement photography and more.

To date, Tone Ross Music and Media has partnered with John F. Hannah Ministries for the Pastors and Leaders One Conference and Vision & Sight Eyewear Line, The Van Buren residences in Chicago’s West Loop for promotional photos, Polsinelli Attorneys at Law, and Lashay Narvette a black-owned Handbag and Apparel company manufacturing in Chicago, IL just to name a few.

Tone Ross Music and Media also provides quality filmmaking services. Tone has partnered with Joshua James Consulting, Regeneration Church of Hammond, IN, Jermone Glenn, Pastor Matt Blumenberg, Bishop William Hudson III, and others in the Chicagoland area to provide professional video services.

Tone has also expanded his brand as a Vocal Director, Music Producer, Songwriter, and background vocalist. He currently serves as the Vocal Director for Mark Hubbard & The Voices and he composed one of their most popular singles “Faith Fail Not”. In January 2024, Tone’s vocal production efforts on J. Ivy’s “The Light Inside” album won a grammy award.

As a background vocalist Tone has shared the stage with Pharis Evans Jr., Richard Smallwood, Bishop William Murphy III, Tye Tribbett, Donald Lawrence, Byron Cage, Brian Culbertson and many more.

Through his life’s work, Tone strives to inspire others through his spiritual walk with God, music, and creativity. His mantra is, “Excellence is a STANDARD and not a goal!”
